CPh 6.0 :: Cop15 Updates + Resources + Analysis + (X)factor

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009 at 17:43

1st Up: Podopolog News :

Dearest Unmediated Organisms, We are very pleased to inform you that you can now finally participate again in the discussion here. The podopolog has been repaired and upgraded, and we are all warm and fuzzy about the potentials for expanding the collective intelligence … far beyond the colonial virtual realms, but well …for now, here we are reading/writing/podopologging.

Many thx to IhazIdea, who battled 32 governmental agencies, 213 rightwing drones, a few dozen trolls, battalions of spambots, too many fascists to count, stinky slippery corpo-capitalists (backed by the swine dept.), and maybe even a couple of peace-mongering hippies who can’t read the danger signs, and more than a few whiteshirt hackers who sit in front of their computers all day eating as much overpriced crunchy bio granola that their patheticly compromised day-jobs allow, while the outside world goes to shit !

Cop15 : Updates + Analysis

11 day countdown til the UN climate conference begins… and if you still feel a little lost about where this is all heading, Naomi Klein’s latest on Democracy Now ( ON CLIMATE DEBT ) will give you a pretty good strategic hilltop view… complete with some small speculation that Obama will likely show up and the corporate media will spin a poorly-designed climate treaty-to-come ( with a much too watered-down CO2 emission caps agreement ) as a SUCCESS. It would indeed be absurd if Obama, who can manage to get to CPH ( some weeks ago ) to try to push a bid for hosting the Olympics in Chicago ( don’t worry, it already failed)… and pick up his Nobel Peace Prize in Sweden, and then NOt come to face the music. Not bloody likely. So yes expect an ObamaRama full screen ride.

But aside from all that not-so-tactical info, she DOES tell us a lot about what the many activist communities will actually be doing from a higher ground, from the grass roots, from direct action and collective citizen consciousness. This is not a Shut Down strategy so much as the Showdown For A System Change!

{ SubmediaTV vs. Alex Jones episode }

And the latest SubmediaTV analysis is useful. But, influenced by Derrick Jensen’s “Endgame” theories ( which are also very useful !), we still don’t buy into their take on cities being impossible to transform into sustainable + cooperative environments. Primarily because, if u see that as the only way to proceed, you are potentially guaranteeing all-out-war and an apocalypse scenario. And the XLt will attempt to illuminate a hybrid approach in the coming weeks.
