Spark’s working on a Process Rebel remix : )) :: We bumped into Oleg from Messer Fuer Frau Mueller a couple weeks back at Gorki Park Cafe with our freind from Animal Cops whom we played with at Fusion, but he was only passing thru, no Berlin gigs on this trip :: Speaking of Fusion, the XLt analysis of this alternative non-commercial fest might be abandoned for lack of time, but we got to gather with the AK Kraak Berlin video activist collective and watched raw and short film clips on one of our favorite Prenzl rooftops, which come to think of it the last time we were there, they had a mini-golf course on the upper deck, and the police raided an umpteenth house anniversary party with about 30 vans and stormed the courtyard in full riot gear :: Mahala Rai Banda will have a new album on Asphalt Tango out in Oct. :: Our friend, dj Zeljko from Kafana Balkan events in San Fran will drop into Btown later this week, probably on his way to Guca :: And Filastine’s got a killer new video for his track Singularities made by Kognitif Krew.

Oh, and there’s news of a DIY replacement for Btown’s commercially-bloated and now defunct PopKomm festival coming this Sept. created, in part by the New Thinking Store peeps. At least that’s how we heard about it first. (Thanks Andrea!) Alternative distribution methods are sure to be a major focus. And since PopKomm sunk due to big music industry woes in the wake of all the online changes, it’s a mighty hightime to raise a pirate flag on its grave…

It’s called the ALL2getherNow Festival scheduled for Sept. 16-18, 2009. “A2GN is a communal thinktank for future oriented music and creative industries and culture in Berlin… promoting sustainable solutions for artists, producers, and users across geographic, industry and genre borders in a pragmatic and technology-friendly manner.”

< 31.7 > And this Friday, they are having an initial Townhall Meeting at 18.00 Uhr, Radialsystem to discuss the project ! Sounds pioneering and highly collaborative !
